The soak-type wooden bottom is finished in brown bottom paint and shows flaking, primarily along the keel. The seller reports that the engine starts with assistance from starting fluid and was last serviced under prior ownership around 2015. The 237ci Chris-Craft KFL flathead inline-six was rated at 131 horsepower when new and turns a single bronze prop. Instrumentation includes a reverse-sweep 4k-rpm tachometer and gauges for oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. A pair of speakers have been added near the rear bench, and the boat retains a factory two-spoke steering wheel with concentric throttle. Originally trimmed in Tango Red naugahyde, the seats have been reupholstered in white vinyl contrasted by teal carpets. The steel trailer features LED lighting and is fitted with 15″ steel wheels with hubcaps and Power King Towmax STR tires measuring 205/75. Chips are present in the wood in several places, and close-up photos are provided of the finish, trim, and plexiglass speedster-style windscreen. The wood hull and decks feature a varnished finish separated from the brown bottom by a white boot top stripe. A twin-axle trailer is included and is fitted with LED lighting. It features a varnished wood finish and white vinyl seating surfaces with teal carpets, and power is provided by a 237ci Chris-Craft KFL inline-six with a single prop. The boat is said to have had two subsequent owners before being acquired by the selling dealer two years ago. This 1958 Chris-Craft Sportsman is a 17′ runabout which was sold new at Scotchman’s Boats in San Jose, California.
